I did the video and the reflection
Using Tinker cad, 3d printer and a computer, I created a fidget whale. I made this fidget whale because I wanted something to mess with during class but it couldnt be to abnoxios because then it would be taken. I decided on the whale because it fun and harmless so that I can have somthing to mess with during class to stay more focased.
During this process, I learned that it is harder to cut up a whale than anticapated. I also lerned that the chain links have to be in the other peice or else they will just fall off. The last thing I learnd is that you have to use time very wisely because you dont know what will happen like that I did my design from home.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to an innovative designer because I used a lot of the technologies I had access to like the computer and 3d printer. The second thing that makes it connect was I had to find a problem to solve and then I had to find a solution to it.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the time crunch. I was able to do it by picking something that I could work on from home so that I would have enough hours into the project. Another challenge I overcame was the peice not printing right, I was able to fix it by adding material to the hoops so that it would stick to the other part and make it all stay together.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the amount of links. The reason why I would change it is because it would be more cool with more links. I also would make it bigger because bigger is better in this instince.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project was tied to engineering and design because I needed to design a project so it could be printed.
My project connects to careers in engineering and design because I had to make a lot of early designs to pick the one I wanted to continue working on. second, I had to continue to work on until we got the design I wanted. For example I could be an architect, graphic designer or even a game designer. In conclusion there are a lot of possibilities for me if I want to continue engineering and design.
