start making ice cubes to see what is best
I worked on the cup hold and ice cubes
today i was thinking about how to get the ice from the hoder to the cup
today i inserted the pusher to to make the ice fall into the cup
we worked on the ice holder and the ice drop mechanism
we put the finishing touches and made the video

Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I'm working with a group consisting of me, Chloe and Hannah
What materials will you need for your project?
cardboard hot glue and skewers.
What is your plan to create in this project?
to make a mechanism that will drop ice when you insert a cup
What unique qualities will your project have?
This will be a project that we thought of our self and if there is one we put our ideas and made our version.
Using cardboard, hot glue, skewers and creativity, I created an ice dispenser because I really wanted to make something complex that wont be easy so I can feel like I earned it. I also wanted something that people could recognize easily. Last I wanted to make something that I use every day.
During this process, I learned even if it did not work the first time, to keep adjusting until it works. I also learned that you have to have good communication with your group to get a good turn out. Last don't take shortcuts it won't turn out every time so do it right the first time so you don't have to do it twice. P. S. hot glue is hot and will burn you.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I set little goals to accomplish a bigger goal. I also had to stay engaged in the learning process.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not destroying it because in wouldn't work. I was able to do it by taking a breather and working on something else. Last I would make ice cubes because they were simple and their hard to mess up. One more thing is the time space, it was hard to perfect the mechanism when we had basically one try.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the color. The reason why I would change it is because it was ugly and I know I can make it look better. Last I would change the drop mechanism because its not that good at it's job. It also was hard to change with the limited build time.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering and design CTE program at Hastings High School. It connects by the part were my group designed it then engineered it.
My project connects to careers in engineering and design because me and my group had to sketch it and work on designing it. second I had to bring that idea to life and engineer it to make it. For example I could be and architect, graphic designer or even a game designer. In conclusion there are a lot of possibilities for me if I want to continue engineering and design.
