Using cardboard, hot glue, an iPad, computer, and iMovie, I created the drone from Rainbow 6 siege. I created this because I thought it would be cool and everyone of my friends can recognize it. Another reason I made it is because I needed something to decorate my desk.
During this process, I learned how to let my partner speak and give there own ideas. I learned this because I would talk over her and most of the time and most were better than mine. Another thing I learned was that its alright to make mistakes and that you can learn from them. I learned that you have to give it multiple coats of paint or you'll be able to see the cardboard. the last thing I learned is everything is done for a purpose, like this class I learn every new project and gain valuable life skill even if I'm just coding a drone to go in a circle.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructer, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I set little goals to accomplish a bigger goal. I did this by saying this should be done by this day and tried my best to stick to it. I also had to stay engaged in the learning process to understand where we were at all the time so I knew what needed to be done still.
A challenge I overcame on this project was bringing the fishing line. I also overcame making the drone look accurate to the game. I was able to do it by looking up a picture and i would also play after school every day so i had it engraved in my head what they looked like.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the propulsion strategy. The reason why I would change it is because the fishing line was very hard to control and make go straight. One other idea was to put programable motors in it so i could code it to do what i wanted way easier.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering and design CTE program at Hastings High School. It connects by the part were my group designed it then engineered it.
My project connects to careers in engineering and design because me and my group had to sketch it and work on designing it. second I had to bring that idea to life and engineer it to make it. For example I could be and architect, graphic designer or even a game designer. In conclusion there are a lot of possibilities for me if I want to continue engineering and design.
