Using a computer, mac book and the website delightex, I created a virtual reality world of two whales jumping and a giant emu with a helicopter carrying a giant mouse. The first reason is because I thought it would be kind of funny to see people laugh so I made it quite random in hope that someone will smile. The second reason is because I read that the Australians went to war with emus and lost so I thought it would be funny to continue the story line and now the emus are coming for America and Americans breed giant mice to feed them and keep them away. 

During this process, I learned how to code in delightex to make stuff move. I also learned how you have to make the animals speed different depending on the animation so it looks realistic. One more thing I learned is that when I'm bored I come up with horrendous story ideas that are normally really funny.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to  Innovative designer because I had to design and create a VR world using all the tech I had access to considering I did a lot at home with less tools at my disposal. It also connects because I used a lot of technologies even if it wasn't what my teacher would offer.   

A challenge I overcame on this project was not having all the necessary tools at my disposal. I was able to do it by asking my parents specifically my dad if he could help because he works with tech so he ended up letting me use a Mac book to get to use imovie. I also cut a couple corners and improvise on some of the technology I used.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the fact that I missed a week of school so I had to make it up. The reason why I would change it is because making up a project is so boring and is just a pain. The second reason is because I don't have every thing I need to make this project go smoothly.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects because I had to design a VR world.

My project connects to careers in design because I directly designed a VR world and made a story off of it. For example, I could be a game designer which makes sense because I made a funny story of a random design that I thought of randomly. This shows I could be a game designer because I just did the same thing they would do mine is just a lot simpler.
