Daily Log:
day 1: made a terrible, thin axe.
day 2: continued adding to the axe and did my planning questions and the 10 good ideas
day 3: tore the axe apart and started to make a sword
day 4: kept working on the sword
day 5: finished the sword and added a point to it
day 6: started to make a second sword and reinforced the first one
day 7: finished second sword and reinforced both and helped someone make their video
Using cardboard duct tape and Popsicle sticks, I created 2 swords because I wanted swords?.
During this process, I learned a little about making little prototypes of larger projects.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer because I used my resources to think of what I wanted to make by looking around and getting ideas from other peoples projects.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the swords stable. I was able to do it by reinforcing them with more duct tape.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the look of the swords. The reason why I would change it is that they don't look the best.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in engineering such as vehicle designer becuase they also make small prototypes or non-final design.
