Using drones and the Tello app, I created a video of me flying a drone through a course because I wanted to test my flying skills.
During this process, I learned how to better teach others how to use drones.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer because I tested and used different propellors, drones, and batteries to help change my flying style to do better on the course.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the drones not being able to take off. I was able to do it by looking over everything that could be causing it then fixed it by reconnecting it to the i-pod.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the time I started. The reason why I would change it is because I started a bit late and had to rush.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in making a course for races or remote-controlled flying device testers.
