Using X-Carve, I created a Darth Vader-themed board. I did this because it was a good design that the website had for free. I also added a Darth Vadar quote to the board and added a QR code
During this process, I learned how to use x-carve software and print/engrave the wood.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to creative communicator because I added a QR code to the board that takes you to youtube and plays music.
A challenge I overcame on this project was how far the bit went down into the wood. I was able to do it by adjusting the bit size and depth of the cut.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the QR code and different designs like the size of how far down the bit goes. The reason why I would change it is that the final product was very off compared to the computer design. I think it would help the print be more accurate.

My project connects to the Construction trades CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in construction and woodworking.
I am working by myself in this project. I will need a piece of wood, a carving bit, and the software to design, x-carver. My plan for this project is to make a Darth Vader design. The unique qualities my project will have is the qr code you can scan with your phone to play music.
Day 1: I logged into the x-carve software, and messed around until I found a design I was happy with.
Day 2: I finished my Vader design and added a qr code you can scan with your phone to play theme music.
Day 3: I worked on my google site and waited for my project to print.
Day 4: Still waiting for my project to print and working on my website.
This is the first design of darth vader in the editing stage, this design was a pre made thing in the base software.
