Daily Log
Day 1. I learned how to use Tinkercad.
This is my first design. I created a action figure with a frog. This was my best attempt at making Thanos with his infinity gauntlet and sidekick frog.
Day 2. I created a egg in a cave.
I learned how to group shapes together.
Day 2 I made a cave and egg figure with the base shapes that are in tinkercad. I did this design because I was still learning and wanted to experiment.
Day 3. I created more projects in Tinkercad.
I learned how to create open space on objects.
These designs are a dinosaur skull mount and a keychain that shows my love for the hit game fortnite.
Day 4.
I decided on making a key chain about my love for this popular game called Fortnite.
I added extra details to the key-chain like a heart to the tip of the i. I made sure to really look at this design because I knew this was the thing I wanted to print and wanted to make sure it was perfect before it printed.
Day 5. I did my paragraphs and continued to mess around in tinkercad making designs like sculptures.
While waiting, I created a whale diagram using the basic shapes in Tinker cad. I made a whale then copied it and put a hollow whale inside of it to make it look better. Then I made a platform for the whale to sit on , then added text to the diagram to show it is a whale.
Day 6. I emailed my project and still waiting for Mr. Renner to print it. While I waited, I made a 3d world.
I created a mountain landscape with trees and a jet landing pad with a jet on it. I also added trees to make the world seem more realistic.
Using Tinkercad, I created a keychain because I wanted a way to express my enjoyment for Fortnite. I also added a hole to the top of the block so I could attach a string to the keychain and tie it to my bag or turn it into a necklace.
During this process, I learned how to create 3d printed objects and use 3-D designing websites like Tinkercad. I made a key-chain with a hole in it so you could attach a string through it.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator because I express a message with the keychain.
A challenge I overcame on this project was putting empty space in the key chain where a string would go. I was able to do it by putting an empty space shape in the tag, then grouping the shapes together.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the open spaces. The reason why I would change it is because I could change the key chain into a necklace or something.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engeneering design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in design.
I worked on my own in this project.
This is a video of my project. I recorded the 3-D print on a table and attached a string through the hole. Later in the video I tied the project to my neck to show the use of it being a necklace. I added background music and sound affects to the video to make it seem more "professional".
