P3-Drone

Using drones and hoops, I created an obstacle course. I did this because it was a good way to challenge my flying abilities. I also thought flying drones is a fun activity to do.

During this process, I learned how to fly a drone using a controller. I needed to know how to do this to be able to fly the drone through the hoops.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Computational thinker because we had to think about many factors while controlling them.

A challenge I overcame on this project was flying through the small holes in the hoop. I was able to do it by flying lower and going slower through it. Another challenge I overcame was editing the video of the drones by putting all of the clips together.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the position of the hoops. The reason why I would change it is that it would give more of a challenge. I could also make it easier on myself by putting them closer or farther apart from each other

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Construction trades CTE program at Hastings High School because people use drones in construction. My project connects to careers in the military and construction.
