Are you working by yourself or in a team? By myslef
What materials will you need for your project?
Laser Cutter
What is your plan to create in this project?
Use the laser cutter to cut out my pieces I need then glue it all together
What unique qualities will your project have?
100% one of a kind
Using the Glow forge, Computer, and tinker cad, I created a phone holder to hold my phone for when I charge it. I did this because whenever I am charging it I have stuff underneath it and I cant put it there anymore and when I made this I thought I can still put things on it and still be able to charge my phone. Also I made it so you can charge any phone on it.
During this process, I learned how to get the right dimensions and get the right parts printed. I also learned how to get the shape and design I wanted. But since I used it before I already knew how to use the glow forge but this time I spent more time trying to figure out how much I can do with the Glow Forge this time.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative designer because you are innovating your design to fit what you want that project to do When you innovate you make that project better, change it a little and I innovated by changing the dimensions just by a little to fit the thickness and everything else you need to fix it or make it better.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the dimensions just right I was able to do it by looking up the dimensions of the Phones that I want to hold. Then I was able to make the design a little bit bigger than to fit the Phone in the holder that I made for it. It was really hard getting the dimensions right because I could not get the size.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the overall design like completely start over. The reason why I would change it is because I do not like the design it looks like I put 2 seconds into it. I would put a lot more detail into it and also be able to put a lot more thought into it and other things like a Wireless charger for another phone or headphones too. It would definitely make it better and I would be happier with it.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in Computer Hardware development because you can use the Glow Forge to cut pieces to what you need and then test fit then do the real thing with the actual product that you are going to produce.
