Yes, I am working by myself.
What are you going to use?
I am going to use a micro bit and the Make Code website and a computer to create my project.
What is your plan?
I will use the internet to find out how to use the micro bit. Once I find out how to use it, I will make a plan of how to reach my goal. Then I will program my micro bit to play my name and then my second video. Once finished, I will link that to my page and publish my work.
Day 1: Completed my name and completed the video. I didn't think it was very hard but it was a fun experience coding on the first day.
Day 2: Uploaded my video to Mr. Renner's google site and my student page. Or at least I thought I did. After a lot of trouble, I figured out that it wasn't viewable and after some help I finally got it uploaded.
Day 3: Created a second video for the miro bit project. It was a fun/scary story type of thing. It was kind of a struggle to find the right parts to make my story work.
Day 4: Finished the Micro bit project. Which was kind of a hassle because I couldn't really get my video uploaded to my site.
Using an I pad and a Micro bit and the Make Code website by Microsoft. I created my name and another video from the micro bit.
During this process, I learned how to connect Micro bit and code. I think it's cool how the computer and micro bit react to each other when linked up.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project is tied to the Knowledge Constructor. I ties to that by giving me knowledge I didn't have before. I didn't know anything about Micro Bits before we started this. Now I can do it.
A challenge I overcame on this project was how to code. I was able to do it by looking up who to code on a Micro bit. We first learned about coding in Elementary School. This is a lot more than we did then but it's much cooler.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change my second project. It was a horror story but I would change it because I had a better idea after I wrote it and it was due.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offer Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Knowledge constructor CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to computer programming because it involves computers and you get to design and program them to do all sorts of amazing things. I don't know if I'd want to be a computer programmer in the future. It's confusing work, but it sure does pay a lot.
