8P7- Speaker Holder

Planning Questions

• Using the glow forge and a computer and tinker-cad, I created a speaker holder because I made one before. Also  that one was the design I wanted but was way too small. But I am keeping the parts and design the same.

• During this process, I learned how to use the glow forge, and how to create different designs with the glow forge too. I also learned how to make the right way. It was definitely a struggle to get the right angle to have it print but I finally got it. The angle was the hardest part because I could not get it the way I wanted to and it was such a struggle to get it. I had to delete some of my project and make the same dimensions as I had before. But what sucked is that I forgot to write down the dimensions for the parts I deleted and so I had no clue what the dimensions were for it so I had to try and find the dimensions again.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designers because you are innovating a design to help fit a specific need that could help in the long run for anything. 

• A challenge I overcame on this project was being able to get the right dimensions on the project. I was able to do it by looking up the dimensions of my speaker and making sure that A it would fit and B hold it the way I wanted it.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the size and the design of the project because it works the way I want it to. The reason why I would change it is because I would just add way more detail to it. To me, it is just blocks put together but I would just add way more detail. 

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.  

• My project connects to careers in Computer Hardware development because you can use the Glow Forge to cut pieces to what you need and then test fit then do the real thing with the actual product that you are going to produce.
