Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need a computer and a 3D Printer
What is your plan to create in this project?
I will look at other hours sites to figure out how to create the 3D Print
What unique qualities will your project have?
It will be 100% percent my imagination
Using a computer, a 3d printer, and the Tinker Cad website to create the project, I created a holder for my Bose speaker which is 3 inches by 4 inches. I created this because I do not have a holder for the speaker and I would like to create one to put in my shower or in my room to listen to music on. Just so I cannot get dirt all over it when it is on the ground. During this process, I learned how to use the Tinker Cad website to create my project but also learned what different kinds of stuff you can create with 3D printers. I had no clue before what you can make with 3D printers and then I watched a video on what 3D printing can do, they can build a house with a 3D printer. The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because you are learning how to innovate and design stuff that has a problem in real life. A challenge I overcame on this project was how to find out how to use Tinker Cad. I was able to do this by using videos to find out what each button does when you click and how to make something move when you touch it like a fidget toy.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the way I viewed the print and the way it functions when I put the speaker on to the platform. The fact speaker can fall off of the sides when placed in the wrong position.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offer Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Construction Trades CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in 3D design for 3D printing technicians.
Completed on the first day. Working on the speaker holder
This is the second day of work I got this piece to flip on to its side which took a while to complete
Trying to figure out what angle to put the platform that the speaker will sit on
Got the angle to the point where the back piece is holding the platform, is just showing through where the speaker will sit. I also had to take the front part off to get the platform to touch the bottom so it would not break when the speaker is on it
I put the front holder on again to make it almost complete now all I got to do is to finish the detail on it and I will be set to print
Added a back to it to make it seem better to hold more wait but I think that the original design will be better
I put it back to the original design because it looked better and I think it would still hold the weight of the speaker
