Reflection
Using tools and computers that don't work, I created a taken apart computer because taking apart computers is fun and you get to learn how computers are made. Also get to learn how they are made while you are taking them apart. Then you get to dig deeper into the computer to see what really goes on inside one.
During this process, I learned how to take a computer apart. Also learned what parts go into making a screen and what parts go into making a computer. It is so cool to see how computers are made. Also seeing how much work is put into creating just one computer.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I learned how to take a computer apart and how computers are made. Also learned how the computer's screens are made with all the different layers of the screen and see how computers are made like with the motherboard being hooked up to the rest of the computer.
A challenge I overcame on this project was taking the screen apart and getting the battery out of one of the computers. I was able to do it by using different tools to help pry the battery out and get the screen out. The screen has so many different layers and I was able to only get some of the screen parts out. Another challenge I overcame was getting the rest of the parts out of the computer like the motherboard. It was so hard to get it out and I had to get a bigger tool to take the motherboard out because it was so hard to get it out.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how I took apart the computer and I would spend more time getting the computer apart. Also, I would take apart different computers to see how different computers are put together. The reason why I would change it is because I really didn't get to take the monitor apart and so I would change the time I had to take apart the computer.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in Engineering because you can take apart computers, then you can make your own type then you are engineering your own computer. You can also get the part dimensionsd that you might need to recreate that same part that might be broken or damaged

Started on a already taken apart computer and just finishing it

Grabbed another computer and started working on that. Got it mostly taken apart
