Am I working by Myself or in a team?
By myself
What Materials will I need for this project?
Tinkercad website, computer, and 3D printer
What is my plan to create in this project?
as many 3D designs as I can
What Unique qualities will my project have?
My awesome Ideas
Day 1-
I made a keyboard stand for when one of them broke off on tinkercad
Day 2-
made a second version of the keyboard stand on Tinkercad
Day 3-
Mr. Renner showed us that we needed the base to be 3mm so I had to remake my whole project lol
I made a pencil holder w/ a guitar on it
I made a pencil holder with a complementary diamond
I printed the pencil holder w/ a guitar except it didn't work because I forgot to change the millimeter to inches 😢
Mr. Renner decided to reprint my project
Using an iPad, Computer and Tinkercad.com, I created an amazing design for of a pencil holder for me and my friends because I am, in fact, very nice. I put a thin square at the base/bottom, and a cylinder on that. The cylinder was thick and the base was super thin. On that cylinder, I put a guitar on it. The guitar was so you knew it was for cool people.
During the process of making the amazing holder, I learned to listen to directions. Not listening to directions made me do the project wrong and it failed. How did it fail? I forgot to make the scale in inches. therefore, making the project wrong and it being TINY. On the very last day, when it printed, Mr. Renner, my teacher, showed it to me and that's when I learned that I should probably listen when he tells people the directions. :)
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because when I searched on Google.com I didn't see any pencil holders quite like mine. Mine was 3D printed and I didn't see a single one that was. Mine was also a cylinder and all the Google.com ones were made from fabric and they layed flat, while mine was just like a cup.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not listening. Mr. Renner told the class, including me, that we needed to change the scale to Inches (3.00 by 3.00). I was talking to my friend and I didn't hear him and, in my defense , he was talking fast. But, when asked my friend he told me what to do but I didn't hear him correctly and I only changed the scale to 3.00 by 3.00 forgetting to change it to inches. Not changing it to inches made my project fail and I didn't have a 3D printed object, all I had was a tiny little blob of 3D ink stuff.
Given a chance to do this project again, I would follow directions so that I would do it correctly the first time. I would also probably make the holder bigger because every time I used it it fell over, and it only held 3 pencils, which is good actually. If I were to do it again however, I would want to make it sturdier so It doesn't fall all the time.
