Using an iPad, iMovie, and the internet, I created a video about sea slugs because I think they're really cool. I think that more people should know about them since they are all over all 4 oceans and look really cool even though they are less then two inches long.
During the process of making the video, I learned how to add music to my iMovie. I also learned how to download and upload something from iMovie to Google Drive and put it my website (this website). I learned how to use a microphone on an iPad.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I came up with the entire video idea by myself. I didn't ask anyone for ideas, nor did I look up any ideas.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the text boxes. I couldn't figure out how to add two different ones on one photo slot. I overcame this challenge by putting two different sentences on one text bubble. Now the text is just two sentences one above the other.
Given a chance to do this project again, I would probably watch a YouTube tutorial. I would do this so that I don't accidently waste half a project day just to find out how to add background music and shorten the image play span. Afterwards I didn't have enough time to record all I wanted to in the voiceover so it was a bit rushed.
Hastings High School Carrier and Technical Education Program Offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the digital multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in digital media because this is digital media, and I made it all by myself.
