Are plan is to create a hunting simulator with a certain number of time and a point system
What unique qualities will your project have?
The characters will move and you actually have a cannon to shoot.
Day 1 we made the scenery and put the cannon up
Day 2 we used a block to make the cannon actually function
Day 3 We added a bear and cow to shoot we have issues coding them to move
Day 4 We made it work and added a raccoon
Day 5 Liam added a point system
Day 6 We created are video and will expand in this farther.
Day 7 we created level 2 and made a cool thing with a wolf
day 8 we finished level 2 and made next level screen
day 9 we all started creating are own levels and I'm doing level 4 a water level, Liam's doing level 3 a dinosaur level, and Keagan is doing level 5 a moon level
day 10 I started coding my level
day 11 I finished my level
day 12 we have started the finishing touches on the game.
Using co spaces, We created a hunting simulator with multiple levels where you can get points because we were talking about hunting and were inspired by the arcade games. We also knew it would be very hard to program and code so it gave us a challenge. That is why we created a hunting simulator in Co spaces.
During this process, We learned that coding can be very meticulous. It's very easy to mess up one simple thing then the whole thing doesn't work. We also learned that you have to separate code correctly using different blocks which was very annoying since sometimes it wouldn't work correctly. Another thing we learned is making these levels takes a lot of time and carful coding. That is stuff We learned while doing this.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. Our project ties to Creative communicator and Global collaborator because, this project ties to creative communicator because we used videos and pictures to explain are project. This project ties to global collaborator because we have a website that shows our project around the world.
A challenge we overcame on this project was getting the animals to work right. We were able to do it by guessing and checking on the code over and over again intel we finally got something to work. The reason we did it like that is because we couldn't under stand why it wasn't working, we felt like the code was correct but every time either the gun wouldn't make the bear disappear or they wouldn't move. Another challenge is getting new ideas for levels since we have limited environments.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change is having a better plan. The reason why I would change it is because we mainly just added stuff as we went on and got lucky that it worked really well in our heads. There were times we would be thinking about what should we do while we were doing it wasting valuable time. Also we could plan are levels a little better/
