9 a moving car
10 flipbook story
Day 1 I started flashing my micro bit and got it to work by connecting it with 3 dots and hitting connect
Day 2 I made my first project it was my name
Day 3 I made a 3,2,1 go project with a speaker and the micro bit
Day 4I had an issue with my cord not working so I wasted basically the entire day trying to fix it.
Day 5 I made 2 more projects a dice roll and a coin flipper.
Day 6 I made a tug of war and a weird pattern thing that gets made when you shake it.
I am working by myself. I will need a speaker, cord, and a micro bit. My plan is to create something with sound and a game type thing. My project is unique because you will be able to roll dice and actually play tug of war you will also be able to shake it and it will change.
3 2 1 go
A and B with sound
Dice roll
Shake it, it gets mad
Tug of war
Tug of war
Dice roll
3 2 1 Go
Using a micro bit, I created games, things with sounds, and stuff that changes when you shake it because, and stuff that changes when you click the A and b buttons I made games because I wanted to make something that would be fun to play with random people. I made a thing when you shake because I wanted to make the micro bit look mad. I made it when you press A and b because i wanted there to be different paths you could take with the micro bit.
During this process, I learned that micro bits are harder to use than I thought. I had issues that had me lose an entire day of work. I also learned that you can make a lot cool stuff with code that I thought I could never make like sound and games. I was able to make 3 2 1 go that made sound. I also made the game tug of war with the A and b buttons.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered learner and Computational thinker because. It ties to Empowered learner because I had to learn what my micro bit could actually do and I had to figure out how to code A and B buttons. My project ties to Computational thinker because I had to really think on how and why a certain code wouldn't work, Why my micro bit would stop working when I unplugged it, and to think what projects I wanted to do.
A challenge I overcame on this project was my micro bit not working when I unplugged it. I was able to do it by getting a new cord. Another challenge I had to overcome was what code worked and didn't work on a micro bit so if I did think of something for the micro bit or I found a tutorial it might not work so I would waste my time. I fixed this by remembering what it cant do I know that it cant process when I make sound to put something on screen so I would never try to do something like that.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change learning a bit more about what the micro bit can and cant do before just jumping to a tutorial our idea. The reason why I would change it is because it cost me a lot of time sometimes because I'd do all that work just for it to say you cant download that even if it was a tutorial. Also I would get annoyed because I thought the project was really cool and would have been fun to see.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer programming CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in professional coder. The reason my project connects to that career is because micro bit needs coding which I used in this project.
A video explaining my projects.
