Biography:  Floren was born on April 4, 1826 in Eckenstein, Baden, Germany.  He came to America in 1840.  Floren was a farmer/harness maker married in 1847 to Katherine Cavnaugh with several children.  Floren and his son, William, were injured at the Abbott Road Crossing on July 23.  Although he initially survived, Floren succumbed to pneumonia and an abscess caused by broken ribs pushing on his lung on July 23, 1890.
