Biography:  Miss Elizabeth Kast was born on July 19, 1817 and passed away on December 22, 1884 at 67 years old.  She worked in the telephone office - first with Federal Telephone Company and then with New York Telephone Company.  She was the longest tenured employee in Hamburg with the company. She was in poor health for a while and lived at the pleasant home of her nephew, George Kast, who tried everything to relieve her in sickness and render her life happy.  She was beloved by all that knew her.
