Biography:  Catherine Fischer was born in 1824 in Hesse, Darmstadt, Germany and came to Buffalo in 1852.   In 1853, she married Fredrick Stamler and came to Hamburg in 1867.  She died on August 30, 1895 from stomach difficulties, which she had been ailing with since March 1895.   Their daughter, Catherine Kast, is also buried at St. James.
