If you enjoy working with your hands, have a mechanical aptitude, take pride in your work, and are passionate about cars, then you might consider a career in collision repair. An experience technician has high income potential, excellent job security, and ample opportunities for career advancement within the automotive industry. A survey from the collision repair Education Foundation found that collision repair technicians average nearly $53,000 a year, almost one in five technicians earned $70,000 or more demonstrating the attractive earning potential of the trade.


Air Force ROTC (005040) (Offered at Granger High)

This AFROTC course is designed for students interested in enriching their high school experience with a military-type experience. Students participate in Aerospace Studies, Leadership Education, Physical Training, Drill, Teamwork, and Uniform/Grooming Inspections. Several field trips are offered each year including possible opportunities to fly.
the program is open to all students and each period has the same curriculum. Enlisting in the military after high school is NOT required. Students will be provided both a PT uniform and an Air Force uniform at no charge. Cadets will be required to wear their uniform once a week. Cadets will be able to participate in one or more after-school activities and community service projects to reap the full benefit of the course.

Level 1 - 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th

Leadership Education Training I (LET1) engage students in simple and complex problem solving. Students learn to take the initiative and innovate as they become keenly aware of their personal attributes and tendencies. As students’ progress through the program of instruction they grow basic level mastery in life skills, healthy habits, physical fitness, and leadership. The curriculum guides them to a more refined understanding and appreciation of government and history. LET1 places students in a variety of minor leadership roles which require them to teach and train their fellow students.
Level 2 - 10th, 11th, 12th

Leadership Education Training II (LET2) draws on the leadership and management techniques learned in the first year of JROTC instruction to plan, develop, and execute training for the LET-1 students. These mid-level managers learn to coordinate and plan with their senior leaders as they strive to engage all students in accomplishing the organization’s tasks. LET-2 students are introduced to and exercise different leadership styles as they implement their own mid-level plans and procedures. LET- 2 students are strongly encouraged to participate and take leadership positions in the extracurricular teams. Prerequisite: Success completion of JROTC LET-1.

Level 3 - 11th, 12th

Leadership Education Training III (LET-3) builds on LET-2 instructions and teaches student to be the senior-level managers within JROTC. Students serve as senior staff, department heads, or CEO’S of the entire JROTC organization. They plan events; oversee the development and execution of activities by subordinate classes; and provide direction, purpose and motivation throughout the organization. Students who successfully complete LET-3 may, if they choose to join the military, enter government service with the rank of E-2 rather than E-1. Prerequisite: Successful completion of JROTC LET-2.
Level 3 - 11th, 12th

Leadership Education Training IV (LET-4) represent the most advanced and final level of JROTC. Students serve in the most advanced leadership positions and apply leadership skills they have learned in the previous three years. Students who successfully complete LET-4 may, if they choose a military career, enter the military at the rank of E2 instead of E-1. Prerequisite: Success completion of JROTC LET -3
Leadership Lab - 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th (After school)
Students at all LET levels are encouraged to participate. Leadership Lab focuses on practical application of the leadership skills taught in the classroom. Lab is conducted after normal school hours and is when the extracurricular teams practice and compete. Lab goes from 2:30 -to- 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Students build their resilience, cohesion, and camaraderie by taking part in these extracurricular teams: robotics, drill, color guard, marksmanship, orienteering raiders, service learning, and pentathlon. All team participants must bae enrolled in Leaderships Lab. Completion of Leadership Lab results in the student earning an additional ½ elective credit per year. Enrollment will be done at the beginning of each semester by the Army Instructor. Prerequisite: Approval by Army Instructor.



Welding Technician (005955) (Offered at Taylorsville High)

Students will learn basic welding skills that will prepare them to apply technical knowledge and skill in the workplace and in project construction. Students will learn and practice knowledge, attitude, skills, and habits required for performing tasks autonomously.  This includes the selection and use of appropriate techniques and equipment with minimum supervision. Students must provide their own transportation.
