PRECISION MACHINING

Contest Description: 

This competition develops students’ precision machining skills and safe professional habits.  Participants will focus on safety, precision, and efficiency while using vertical mills and metal lathes.  The project builds competency in blueprint reading, precision measuring, and managing time effectively. Through hands-on work, students will learn how to process the project and produce precision parts that meet industry standards. 


Project Scope:

Students must safely use all designated tools, produce accurate and thorough work, and maintain a positive attitude.  They are expected to stay organized, meet deadlines, and keep the workspace clean.  The project emphasizes quality control, attention to detail, and best practices in precision machining.  Successful completion will demonstrate accurate measurements, professionalism, and responsibility in a manufacturing setting.
