HAIRSTYLING
Contest Description:
This contest enables students to demonstrate their skills to industry professionals in the
field of Hairstyling. It will provide students with input from industry professionals which
ensures that today’s market demands are met within school curriculum requirements. It
will create the opportunity for students to complete realistic in salon services that meet
client expectations of appearance, professionalism, and cleanliness.
Project Scope:
Students will be given a previously undisclosed “Wish” for each of the following
categories: Long Hair Up (Updo/Formal Style), Naturally Textured Hair Design,
Commercial Haircut and Style. Students will recreate the given procedure while using
proper techniques, proper safety procedures, and standard cleaning protocol.
Tools/ Supplies Required to be brought by students:
Phones, headphones, earbuds and laptops are not allowed.
You may bring a clean notebook to draw, formulate, or make notes about their plan moving forward.
