Contest Description:
To demonstrate skills and knowledge related to wood and use of other materials such as veneer, particleboard, adhesives, abrasives, hardware and metal fastenings. They will construct a quality cabinetry product that is in compliance with safety regulations and properly use safety equipment. They will need to interpret technical drawings
Project Scope:
To assess and promote the contest’s knowledge and skills in cabinet making by building a project from a drawing provided
Tools/ Supplies Required to be brought by students:
Tape measure
Ruler
Pencils
Safety glasses
Cordless drill and charger
Red Robertson screwdriver
¾” or 1” chisels (one sharp chisel)
Utility knife/scissors
Combination square
Self centering dowel jig
3/8” twist drill bit
Contestants may bring any other hand tool they use on a regular basis, but must have them approved by the chair.
