This course is suitable for pupils with a broad interest in music and for pupils with a specific interest in technology. The course is practical and experiential in nature and
there is considerable scope for personalisation and choice through the contexts for learning.

Question paper (30%)
The question paper requires candidates to use listening skills and to draw on and apply knowledge and understanding of a sample of all the technological terms, styles and genres, and music concepts. Pupils will develop their knowledge and understanding of music and music technology, which include; technological terms, styles and genres, music concepts, controls, effects and processes.
Assignment (70%)
The pupil is required to develop 1 creative production from the following; live performance, multi-track recording, radio broadcast, composing and sound design for film, audiobooks and computer gaming. The purpose of the assignment is to use the practical skills, knowledge and understanding, which is taught
throughout the course, to plan, implement and evaluate both productions.
Listening Paper (exam paper) - 45 minute exam
Assignments (in class) - create 1 project throughout the year, which should last between 4 and 7 minutes in length.
