Dear GJS parent community,
Once again, I want to thank you for your continued support for the MYP Programme. As we transition into September, we will be fully immersed in term one.
MYP Personal Project:
The MYP Personal Project has begun! This week students connected with their supervisor. They will begin to meet with them to discuss:
Research methods and tools for their project
How to condense or streamline their learning goal and product goal
Setting up smart goals for their product with a realistic timeline
Discussing their success criteria and how to best document their evidence.
We encourage all parents to follow along with their student’s progress through the GJS Personal Project Site.
We loved seeing you at the Parent Session, but if you were unable to attend, you can click here to view the slides.
Remember Criteria A is due on October 26th!
Please reach out to our Personal Project Coordinator, Pak Irwan (irwann@globaljaya.com) or Ibu Sue (sue@globaljaya.com) with any questions.
Service as Action:
All MYP Global Jaya students will begin their Service as Action. This is an MYP requirement that is required to be completed before entering the Diploma Programme. In MYP Core classes, we will go over the requirements and learn how students can get involved in Service as Action. When students attend the Week without Walls, they will complete one of their Service as Action experience requirements. Students will also work with their groups to create activities during WWW.
Currently some students have already chosen to work with student clubs and activities as a service experience. For example, students can work with GJS TV, Hawkers, Green School, Pre-Med Club, Hawks Cup, Coach with Pak Alex and sports teams, tutoring in the primary, FLY (Friends of the Library), Buddy Programme, and more.
