The recently published enhancements to the Primary Years Programme have re-emphasized the importance of student leadership. Providing voice, choice and ownership within the classroom and school community allow students to engage in the learning process and influence its direction and focus.
One of the ways Global Jaya has chosen to emphasize voice, choice and ownership is through the encouragement of leadership roles and the introduction of new opportunities. Some of the roles available to students this year include:
* Student Council * House Captains and Vice Captains * Information and Communication Technology Leaders * Mini Inquiry Group (MIG) Leaders * Environment Committee * Assembly Organisation Supervisors * Field Trip/Camp/Study Tour Leaders
To assist students in their leadership roles, training sessions have been arranged to support the development of specific skills and learner profile attributes. The sessions have also identified links to the IB leadership capabilities as seen through the descriptions.
