Sharing The Planet (Biomes)

On Friday, 27 October 2023, we performed in the assembly. During the assembly, we explain what we have learned in UOI 3 Sharing The Planet under the Central Idea Human activities can alter the relationships found within biomes. 

The lines of inquiry are:

• Characteristics of different biomes.

• The relationships between living and non-living things within biomes.

• How human activities impact biomes.

In the assembly, we explained five different biomes (Tundra, Taiga, Desert, Grassland, and Tropical Rainforest) through role-play. We explained the characteristics of each biome, such as the location, weather/ climate, geographical features, animals, and plants, and how people can help protect the biomes. In this role play, every student had a role, such as the narrator, the explorer, and the ranger who takes care of the biome, the animals, and the plants.

As a closing of our performance, we sang a song called “Jagalah Bumi”, which means we asked the audience also to take care of the Earth.

We showed our enthusiasm when we performed in the assembly. We hope that this assembly will make the audience aware of the importance of taking care of the Earth. We hope that the audience will be inspired to start taking care of the Earth, too.
