Dear Primary Parents,
Welcome to Term 2. We hope this newsletter finds you well and inspired by the magic of reading! November brings the echoes of a fantastic Book Week celebration that has left our school buzzing with literary energy and creativity.Â
Our recent Book Week was an enormous success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of our students, teachers, and parents. Together, we embarked on a literary journey, celebrating the diversity of stories and the joy of reading. From dressing up as favorite book characters to creative storytelling sessions, it was a week filled with imagination and wonder. The energy and enthusiasm displayed by all participants were genuinely heartwarming.
We encourage all students to carry the Book Week spirit throughout the year. Keep the pages turning, explore new genres, and discuss your favorite books with friends and family. Visit libraries, set reading goals, and make reading a part of your daily routine.
Student Council Update
On October 28, we honored and commemorated Youth Pledge Day, a significant date in Indonesia's history. This tradition, which began 95 years ago, remains a powerful symbol of unity and patriotism among the Indonesian people. To honor this day, students across Indonesia traditionally take the youth pledge.
At Global Jaya, our primary student council embraced this commemoration by creating a red and white banner featuring the pledge in Bahasa Indonesia. Our banner proudly stands in the primary lobby, signed by all our students, signifying their unity and commitment to the pledge.
The translated pledge, which was displayed, reads as follows:
Firstly
"We, the sons and daughters of Indonesia, acknowledged one motherland, Indonesia."
Secondly
"We, the sons and daughters of Indonesia, acknowledged to be of one nation, the nation of Indonesia."
Thirdly
"We, the sons and daughters of Indonesia, upheld the language of unity, Indonesian."
This initiative served as a powerful reminder of the values and principles that bind us as a community and a nation. It was a celebration of our diversity, unity, and commitment to our country.
Kindness
November is the month of kindness. November 13 is observed as World Kindness Day. Starting November 6, we will encourage all our students and teachers to share an act of kindness they either did or received from someone. Students will be encouraged to write the act of kindness and add it to the poster in the Primary Foyer. As parents, we also encourage you to share with us some actions that you witnessed at home. Please feel free to email Ibu Imas, Pak Rully, or Ibu Lavesa with your note, and we will be sure to recognize our students.
Kindness cannot be measured, No act of kindness is too small or big. Kindness is addictive The more you share, the faster it spreads.
