On February 19, 2026, Year 5 students participated in the Global Jaya Think Tank, a structured simulation designed to develop research, communication, and collaboration skills as part of their learning journey.
Students represented eight countries: Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United States, and engaged in three formal sessions.
In Session One, delegates introduced their countries, sharing key information such as government systems, population, and major economic activities. This allowed students to understand how national contexts shape global perspectives.
In Session Two, each country presented a proposed solution to a global issue (global warming, deforestation, and overfishing), explaining what the solution was and why it was suitable from their country’s perspective. Students demonstrated critical thinking and persuasive communication as they connected research to realistic action.
In Session Three, delegates worked collaboratively to negotiate and agree on three shared solutions that would benefit all countries. This discussion required respectful listening, compromise, and open-mindedness.
The Global Jaya Think Tank was a powerful experience that strengthened students’ confidence, global awareness, and collaborative skills. We are proud of our delegates for their commitment to finding meaningful solutions together.
On February 19, our Year 5 students had a special experience in their classroom. In celebration of Valentine’s Day and Book Day, the Secondary ASA Friends of the Library organized a session titled “Fold Your Love.”
During this session, several secondary students guided the Year 5 students in creating handmade bookmarks. They demonstrated each step and supported the Year 5 students throughout the process.
The activity combined creativity, celebration, and a love for reading. Using colorful paper and their own artistic ideas, students carefully folded, decorated, and personalized their bookmarks.
At the end of the session, students proudly used their creations as real bookmarks for their books, making their reading time even more meaningful.
“Fold Your Love” was not only a craft activity but also a beautiful example of student leadership, collaboration between year levels, and a shared love for books.
On Thursday, February 12, 2026, Year 5 students, together with Year 4 and Year 6 students, participated in an educational session on the Prevention of Violence Against Women and Children. The session was hosted by the Pemerintah Kota Tangerang Selatan, specifically from the Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan, Perlindungan Anak, Pengendalian Penduduk dan Keluarga Berencana (DP3AP2KB).
The purpose of the session was to help students better understand their rights and learn how to protect themselves from violence. The presenters explained that every child has rights, including the right to feel safe, to be respected, and to be protected from harm. Students were reminded that they deserve to be treated kindly and fairly at all times.
During the presentation, students learned practical ways to protect themselves from strangers. They were taught not to easily trust people they do not know, to avoid sharing personal information, and to always inform a trusted adult if they feel uncomfortable or unsafe. The presenters also emphasized the importance of staying alert and confident when facing unfamiliar situations.
Another important topic discussed was bullying. Students learned how to recognize different forms of bullying, including verbal and physical. They were encouraged to stand up for themselves in a safe way, support friends who may be experiencing bullying, and report any incidents to teachers, parents, or school counselors. The message was clear: staying silent is not the solution; reporting helps prevent further harm.
Overall, the session was informative and empowering. Students gained valuable knowledge about how to prevent violence and protect themselves. Through this activity, they became more aware of their rights and responsibilities in creating a safe and respectful school environment.
