After finishing on the book deisgn edits, we moved on to putting our illustrations to a mock-up book cover that Cullum had us download a online: https://unblast.com/free-front-hardcover-book-mockup/
Looking at it like this now looks so cool it looks almost realistic as if i can get that book purchased online. one thing for sure i wish i could change is probaby how dark it looks but i also kinda like it because it looks very mysterious and thrilling. Also add maybe som splash and speckle of dust floating around.
What i like about most of these are that they have png illustrations like stickers and animation gifs and motions the colours are really bright and pretty very vibrant.
and then i like how some of their sites have png buttons of their illustrations and if you hover the mouse on it the title appears which is what i like to bring to the blog/ squarespace.( Tried it you can section it category but then i decided to only have a one page portfolio maybe in the future i might plan on using that same method. )
I like how some pictures that are in carousel moves on its on so almost as if the site it self is alive and all you have to do is scroll down.
making logos was fun although i made alot of roughs some of them werent very me. I originally have my own logo using my initials from my name to create a what others think looks like a key which i quite like it because it looks very magical to me and im very into it.
But i decided to try and create a new logo just to experiment more.
the first animation I tried is from procreate by using my signature and create a motion for it. then the rest i quite like the idea of seals and stamps where you can just create your own seal/stamp and it'll just be of your name so i used my initials, name , and chinese name to see how it'll looks like. i used to have one of my own marddl steal when i was young, where the charaters are carved into the marbel and that it comes with a special red ink paste to stamp it with. (unfortunatly the marble stamp broke)
Cullum brought in some really interesting books on logos and they were really nice and gave some really similar ideas to what I've done and wanted.
Then i picked some images up that i liked which are cats, noodles and my favourite candy.
I really liked how simple that this came out and used Miranda's hand writing when she wrot my initials. But in the end i ended up with one of my illustrations of a cat eating noodles.and then Cullum was very nice to refine it for me and i ended upreally liking his design especially the when he added that third eye in the middle very witchy.
Cullum suggested a website to make a gif https://ezgif.com/maker
luckily I've used this site before last year.
I made this using Procreate's animation feature by aligning it close overlaying each other.
It was a really enjoyable activity to collaborate with others drawing different shapes and adding our drawings to their, its like seeing other peoples perspective in your drawings and how they interpret it. Had loads of laughs about it
Zeitgeist - Babe Rainbow
"Peel the mandarin" + "Love has begun"
"Peel the mandarin" + "Story of the earth"
Thinking of you - Lord Echo
"Ecstasy"
"Thinking of you"
We made mock ups with Cullum using photoshop and the site called graphicburger.com for the record cover. Because the regular scanner in the mac room doesn't fit the entire 7/7 album cover used our adobe scanner from our phones to take a phone which looks quite good it added some texture to it and some shine. the process to making this was quite easy since we only had to delete the original image that was there and replace it with ours.
we had discussions on how we did it and sometimes it can be a little messy since we get lost in what we were suppose to do and draw and ended up drawing loads of hearts in one pages and loads of hand holding in the other page but it was alright.it was a really interesting collaboration experience though a bit messy and i wasn't into the technique because of how messy it can be and its difficult to make a clean drawing even with the frames which was a good tip. but just a slight lean on the paper gives that texture although in some work it does look goood but when i want minimal texture i just need to consider the amount of ink and and how i place my arm or the side of my palms on the paper.
My first ceramic tutorial and I really enjoyed it it might be my new hobby since ive always enjoyed sculpting created when i was young using playdough and pinching them into beings. Jane taught us how to make cute pinch pots, coil pots, dents, texture, impreting letters, scratching and using 4 slates to make vessels.
Although i dont think i'll be making a newspaper anytime soon but the information/tutorial I've been informed was quite interesting to know.
I did ordered some samples off the website so i think i might make a random art newpaper maybe.
It was also good t know that you could trick the system in changing the images original size t fit the resolution but also its not a professional or recommended procedure to do so. Janes said to use a decent camera for god quality images
