Artist that I've looked up on book art styles that i like and find very intriguing how they open and people who own the books get to interact with it, drawing styles or pattern designs that really caught my eye.

A picture book tunnel of Mocha the cat. I made mocha the mascot? or the main character of the book because just like him we were both transported to a new world of wonders in wales and its like im looking at the world through his eyes.
He's always looked good in a deep red colour and thought i would design him a Cheong Sam which is a Chinese dress mainly for women even if Mocha is a boy. I thought of giving him expressions but didnt like the way it looked so opted for how he looks now in the picture.
The ingredient list to make glue paste. I wanted to add some texture to the cover of my book to give it that pop up design. But i didn't want to buy those expensive puffy paint because I would need a hand full of multiple colours so luckily as I was in YouTube watching art videos i came across this Japanese account she makes wonderful cat art and mini sculptures their design were like those vintage cats but with human clothes. Her artist name is Nelco Neco I absolutely love her work and her video tutorials are easy to understand. She made a tutorial video on how to make glue paste because she often used them in her work she knew that not many artist would like to buy the expensive brand especially if they're just trying out so made a recipe that works well in the end after i failed at my first attempt, i messaged her about my attempt and asked her why mines ended up looking like the consistency of lumpy rice pudding. Luckily she replied saying that she also had the same problem before too but later said that i had to lower the heat of my microwave and and take out every 5 seconds. it worked out afterwards once i heed to her advice. Later on my third batch of colours i didn't use the microwave because i wanted to see what happens if i didn't would it still produce the same result and yes it did but this time i added a bit more corn starch to it to have a thicker paste.
When in Conwy means the places I've visited and enjoyed my stay
I wanted to make a case terrarium for displaying the books but because I think used a thin card material that made the structure flimsy and just not nice to look at for my liking so i lost motivation in making that and focused more on making the books because I know I had to prepare many layers to for the books.
I wanted to create a little illustration book of Hong Kong with bits of it that is HK when you sway the book from left to right you can to see more of the world inside of it and it would look like Mocha is floating around the spiraling busy city of hong kong.
With each layer has a different event to it like the wet market in hong kong, the steam bun festival celebrated in cheung chau, the midnight life with neon lights sign and my favourite is the mid autumn festival where they eat mooncakes and lit lanterns.

Although I haven't been to the Laburnum Arch because it wasn't in season and only a few of the flowers were in bloomed i could imagined it would've been a magical experience.
did some printmaking and used the itching on the plastic technique to create a big A4 size flower piece to be the cover of the book and it turned out quite nice in the end I really liked how it looked in the end
A cat sculpture of Mocha using some cardboard boxes mashed with water and glue to create paper clay it was an experience i've never done and quite tiring but maybe if i had a pestle & mortar maybe it would've been easy? but instead i used a plastic bowl and a rock from my back garden
I made this print of the wales flower daffodil with the Hong Kong flower Bauhinia because to me it represent a mixture of where I was before to where I am now. Welcoming me to this new land.
