My personal Youtube account where I record my interesting places and events that I go to basically a vlog and send them to my friends back in Hongkong to watch its like updating them in whats going on stuff. and to me its like a Video diary I capture moments tha are funny or beautiful that i then can go back to watch and relive it.
I've dabbled on multiple editing softwares like FinalCut Pro, imovie, and probaby used premire pro 3 times and it was really good its just too difficult for me to use that time because i wasnt that knowledgale about the tips and tricks to it so yah. But currently i have a favourite app that I've purchased because it's worked fine with me VLLO has a few cool effects, transitions and some sound effects as well as some background music. alothough im not a big fan of their filters i dont really use that feature anyway.
Kinemaster has caught my attention probably because It has more features than the one i am currently using. they have green screen and some cool stock videos , background music and sound effects but it's a paid app where only a small certain things are available
With Procreate I can animate my work though it still takes time getting used to.
I'm not that great at animating objects but when it comes to wrds and lines I'm alright with that.
with FlipaClip its available for both android and apple users. I've tried this application only once just to have a ago at animation and although I'm not gonna do alot of it I was just curious to know how its like to animate frame by frame.
That was a fun and quick processe for a short 4 sec clip.
although i know that the animation flow might not be right but its still translate alright.
We opened Premiere Pro and explore opening a file and testing colours and their transitions mainly used dissolve.
I've used premier pro last time back in 2019 for a college tutorial and I've never been used to it because it looks quite intimidating also because my laptop is quite old so i know for sure my laptop would lag and heat up.
but maybe if I have a better device i might get use to using premier pro
The lightenings in the video is mostly lights from the studio, my desk lamp and natural lighting.
i like when the studio white lights are off and the warm lights are on it adds some warmth and a relaxed atmosphere.
As for the sounds I like the sounds of scissors cutting paper just something about it sounds so sharp almost like ASMR and something the paper folding or pencil sounds. But i also like to add background music to my videos that i think matches the content and i thought i'd try voice overing my video even if I may cringe at the sound of my voice weird thing is my voice changes depending when i sing or speak depending when i know im being recorded for an important video or something . And i know its hard to get rid of backgound noises unless you had a good mic or noise cacellation thing but yah i just used my ipad as a mic as i did the recordings at around midnight when i know everyone is asleep and its the only time the house is quiet.
for Motions I know I'm alwasy going to add some fun motions for the head titles of each points and my logo as well as others. Mark helped me figure out how to add basic motion to my logo on premier pro and that was interesting. See I'm not that great at using premire pro probabyly becayse of how and where everything is place and i basically rarely use it anyway since my laptop cant handle that. but i'll definately give it ago when i have a new mac. So instead i'll use apps that provide animation features. I really like making my writings come to life by using procreate's animation feature its fun and easy since they have the onion skin and ping pong feature that lets the words go on loop.
while starting the storyboard I always have a ideas on what I wanna record and edit but i always get stuck when it comes to talking about myself when i just want to show more of what i do instead. So i just did the obvious identity piece briefy, i like coffee, food, anime, plants, my pets
I really like doing the storyboards but i think i definately went off track with it and just recorded the moment (like whatever happned in that moment i'd record it) and get those down to my four points. I started gathering the footages and placing them all in order.
In the end i wasnt able to follow some of the storyboard which was abit unfortunate but i did find other ways to record myself in the video.
I feel like i just accidentally drifted off the storyboard and just went with the flow on how i want my video to showcase myself and work.

I think that this site is actuallu a useful tool to use to be more organise
I'll definately think of using this in a future project
I had the opportunity to collab with one of my friend Joseph from Hong Kong we were talking about how life was and so on. He was curious about the types of projects we do because he misses doing course work and video editing and photography stuff.
he used AfterEffects and we explored different effects, fonts, audio, and motion it was fun. i just told him what i wanted my logo to be doing bounding towards the frame and an artsy feeling towards it.
I really like and enjoy the process of editing videos, its like making a personal memory more exciting and special. especially when i add transistions and short sticker animations.
My original start from a blurry clip in the begining slwly focusing in i thought it really looked nice and prfessional almost like a welcoming start. but i dropped that idea.
But then I wanted some parts to be zomed in like a video in video so originally i did only two pop up videos and showed that part to Mark and then he suggested to make multilple pop ups like my wall almost like sticky note collage and that process wasactually fun and and it helped to save alot of time space making the video duration shorter and showing close up clips of the process cutting, folding, drawing and stuff.
Recording this process was absolutely random it was taken when i got home from work and was drinking a glass of what and Mocha seemed curious to see what i was drinking so a though came up and i place my phone under the glass as he started sniffing and drinking the water it was absolutely cute.
which made me realise things that ideas would just pop up at any given moment even after i came home from work a video idea would just pop up and I'd just take it.
So I wanted to do a fun transition using the images that I scanned the process was fun just add the images randomly poping up one by one filling the pages and it'll cut to the clip. And that was a playfull thing. then the next clip were all short stopmotions i had for the book tunnel whic were easy and fun to make.
So I didnt want it to be a long video of me stitching and I didnt wanna record a timelapse video either so instead i just cut to the motion of needle through and out and kept the important motion in so with two halves doing different mostions like the stuffing the cutting and stitching.
Just like the stitching I didnt wanna show all the pages so I remembered Mark saying to make the video quick and punchy so with the books instead of showing everything I just showed the best pages that I liked and instead of keeping the clip of my hand fliping through the pages I cut the part from when the pages just open and about to flip to the next page and then CUT. Just keeping that important short clip to show the page more.
Just like the one above I only cut to the imporrtant part and zoomed in th emain focus of the clip like Mocha and Sugar so the book is about day and night where Mocha only gets to meet Sugar at night.
I originally had a video fo myself filimg the process of making a shrine diarama and thought reusing some of the clips would be useful since its also part of my daily process to make what I make but unfortunatly that time i recorded it in portrait instead of landscape so i decided to do that video in video trick in the end to fill in the spaces instead of having pure black background
Now that the video project has ended I will miss making videos and creating fun storyboards especially the ones of the tales of the unexpected which was my favourite. I really enjoy our time with Mark even if I may have a little difficulty in understanding some parts until he re explain them again. But yeah I may have not finished the Storyboards because I've never really made a video about myself and my work and i know there may still be parts missings as i know i feel like there will always be something missing almost like a sign (Work in progress) will always hang around me. There are things i wish i did them differently like my voice overs and probably some clips. also if I knew how to use premire pro i could probably change the overlay of how the videos would look. Enjoy the video!
