On Dec. 23, 2020, the Georgia Southern University Coaching Education Program announced our first-ever "Students of the Semester" to recognize outstanding achievement in fall courses. Honorees were nominated by the Coaching Education faculty for their performance during the semester. This inaugural class of eleven honorees included five graduate students and six undergraduate students, including one coaching minor of the semester.
Congratulations to Harlee Rewis, a Fall 2020 Georgia Southern Coaching Education Student of the Semester! A Guyton native, Rewis excelled in her KINS 4420 (Sport Conditioning Lab) course led by Sarah Davis.
Rewis, majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in education, mathematics, and coaching, showed exceptional qualities through her undergraduate minor courses.
"Harlee has shown outstanding qualities as a coaching minor student. She has shown academic achievement and leadership. Her academic work has been excellent while always volunteering, contributing to class discussions as well as helping other classmates with group activities."- Ms. Sarah Davis, KINS 4420 Instructor
A GSU Softball player, Rewis has applied the knowledge gained through class to not only sports, but life as well.
"I have really enjoyed the coaching classes that I have taken so far. Not only have my professors been extremely helpful in the area of coaching, but they have been life coaches as well. Coach Davis not only showed care for all of her students, but also showed love for family, friends and Georgia Southern as a whole. I look forward to continuing to take coaching education classes and hope to further my knowledge in the future," said Rewis.
Congratulations again to Coach Harlee Rewis, a Georgia Southern University Coaching Education Undergraduate Student of the Semester for Fall 2020!
