On Dec. 23, 2020, the Georgia Southern University Coaching Education Program announced our first-ever "Students of the Semester" to recognize outstanding achievement in fall courses. Honorees were nominated by the Coaching Education faculty for their performance during the semester. This inaugural class of eleven honorees included five graduate students and six undergraduate students, including one coaching minor of the semester.
Congratulations to Kenzavious Coats, a Fall 2020 Georgia Southern Coaching Education Student of the Semester! A Macon native, Coats excelled in his KINS 3427 (Coaching Basketball) course. Dr. Hal Wilson noticed his hard work, “Kenzavious did a fantastic job. His work was always professional and thorough, and his attitude was fantastic despite the challenges of the semester.”
A Sport Management major, Coats enjoyed the course as well: "Coaching Basketball is an amazing class to be in. In this class I learned the true meaning on what a 'coach' really is and how to become one."
Not only does Kenzavious do a fantastic job in his coursework, but he also volunteered with Georgia Southern alumnus Brian Hall's Boys Basketball team at William James Middle School. Coach Hall stated, "He is one of if not the best college assistants we have ever had. He brings enthusiasm every day and really cares about our players." There is a bright future ahead for Coach Coats!
Congratulations again to Coach Kenzavious Coats, a Georgia Southern University Coaching Education Undergraduate Student of the Semester for Fall 2020!
