On Dec. 23, 2020, the Georgia Southern University Coaching Education Program announced our first-ever "Students of the Semester" to recognize outstanding achievement in fall courses. Honorees were nominated by the Coaching Education faculty for their performance during the semester. This inaugural class of eleven honorees included five graduate students and six undergraduate students, including one coaching minor of the semester.
Congratulations to Brett Barron, a Fall 2020 Georgia Southern Coaching Education Student of the Semester! Barron, a Suwanee native and a Georgia Southern golfer, excelled in both his KINS 3429 (Coaching Olympic Sports) and KINS 3431 (Psychology of Coaching) courses. Dr. Dan Czech taught both of those courses and had this to say about Barron: "Brett was conscientious about assignments and showed interest and passion in coaching and helping others."
A Finance major, Barron saw his Coaching Education classes teaching lessons beyond the classroom: "I learned a lot this semester, especially with the Habitudes books and I am very excited to apply those Habitudes to my every day life and future."
Congratulations again to Coach Brett Barron, a Georgia Southern University Coaching Education Undergraduate Student of the Semester for Fall 2020!
