On Dec. 23, 2020, the Georgia Southern University Coaching Education Program announced our first-ever "Students of the Semester" to recognize outstanding achievement in fall courses. Honorees were nominated by the Coaching Education faculty for their performance during the semester. This inaugural class of eleven honorees included five graduate students and six undergraduate students, including one coaching minor of the semester.
Congratulations to Griffin Davis, a Fall 2020 Georgia Southern Coaching Education Student of the Semester! A Statesboro native, Davis excelled in his KINS 3426 (Coaching Baseball & Softball) course led by Dr. Dan Czech. "Griffin had a great attitude, work ethic, and passion for helping others," according to Dr. Czech.
In addition to playing baseball at Georgia Southern, the Exercise Science major also coaches a summer travel baseball team, where he intends to use the skills he learned in class.
"One of the main things that I admire about the coaching classes I have taken is how Dr. Czech applies the lessons learned in class to not only the sport, but to life as well. The program as a whole will allow students to gain a deeper knowledge of the sport and how to handle certain situations on and off the field," said Davis.
Congratulations again to Coach Griffin Davis, a Georgia Southern University Coaching Education Undergraduate Student of the Semester for Fall 2020!
