This week: We began Module 8, exploring this essential question: What can we do to make more healthful food choices? We read an informational text, "Eco-friendly Food" and learned about text and graphic features and author's purpose. This unit will focus on writing an opinion essay.

This Week: We are reviewing area and perimeter, reviewing our unit and testing on WEDNESDAY!
Last Week: We problem solved with measurement and conversions, time and money.

This Week : We explored Earth's natural resources (renewable and nonrenewable) like air/wind, water, sunlight, plants, and animals, coal, oil, and natural gas. We will talk about how humans use these to gain energy and the importance of conservation.
Next Week : We will learn about conserving Earth's resources, what kids can do to make positive change, recycling, and about properties of rocks.
We will have a science test on Wednesday, March 11 over everything we have covered since winter break. This includes seasons, moon phases, climate vs weather, the water cycle, weathering and erosion, and Earth's natural resources.
This Week : We began our week 23 newspaper about the Texas railroad boom. We will learn about railroad communities, the economic impacts, and the immigration that followed the railroads where they led.
Next Week : We will begin our week 24 newspaper about Texas moving into the 20th century. We will learn about FDR, the great depression, the dust bowl, and Texas as we moved towards WW2.
We have a social studies test on Monday March 9 over the civil war and reconstruction period in Texas. If you would like to study alongside your student this is weeks 20-23 in Studies Weekly.
Snack will be at 9:10 each morning. If your child wants a snack, they need to bring a nut free snack. Due to allergies, we are no longer allowed to provide snacks.
Library will be each week. Please remind students to keep their library books safe in their backpack!
