January 6th, 2025 Week #19
"Under Construction"
This week we will begin our exploration of a new thematic unit, "Under Construction". Students will learn vocabulary words such as: architect, blueprint, construction, cooperation, engineer, foundation, parallel, polygon, quadrilateral, skyline, and skyscraper. We will explore the concept of alliteration as we read various books about building. Students will search for words that begin with the same sound. Students will also sequence the events of a story.

You can order a yearbook and create an ad/ dedication page online at yearbookordercenter.com. Our order number for O.C. Taylor is 17833.
We are offering both softcover and hardcover yearbooks this year!
Last day to order an ad/ dedication page is March 15th.
Last day to pre-order a yearbook is April 12th.
Daily Folders
Each school day, your child brings home their Daily Folder. Please make sure you are signing the GREAT Chart nightly and returning it to school on the following day. Your support and communication is very much appreciated. Thank you!
Please remember ...
Your child needs the following items sent in their backpack, every day:
*a change of clothes in a ziploc bag
*a water bottle that they can manage without spilling
* label water bottle, backpack and lunchbox
*2 healthy snack items (no items that require utensils, please)
*Please send one water/drink for lunch to stay in the lunchbox and another water bottle for snack
Dismissal Reminder:
If you find your child must go home a different way than planned, please notify the office by a phone call by at least 2:00 p.m. Teachers and our front office staff do not always have access to email or are busy teaching or helping others. A phone call is required. Sometimes we have only one person in the front office, so we want to provide ample time to be able to meet your needs.
