2nd year DNP student, Melody Mendenhall, received full funding from the School of Nursing's DNP program to attend the 2024 Student Policy Summit.
Melody Mendenhall, RN, MSN, NP-C, received funding from the UCLA School of Nursing to attend the 2024 Student Policy Summit in Washington, D.C. Students who attended the summit participated in educational sessions "focused on the federal policy process and nursing’s role in professional advocacy."

"It was an honor to participate in the AACN student policy summit with my PhD student colleague, Cristina Cabrero-Mino, and Dr. Lin Zhan, our esteemed Dean," shared Mendenhall.
"The conference allowed me to get public policy experience, which is my passion. I was able to connect with other nurse leaders and deans and get some experience fighting for the future of our profession. This experience will allow me to be more comfortable with the legislative process in the future. A big thank you to the school of nursing for providing this opportunity."
