Dr. Albert Shin

Dr. Albert J. Shin, DNP, MSN, RN, AGACNP-BC, CCRN published his DNP Scholarly Project.

Dr. Albert J. Shin, DNP, MSN, RN, AGACNP-BC, CCRN published his DNP Scholarly Project titled, Prone Positioning in Patients With Covid-19 and Non-Covid-19 Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) in the December 2023 issue of Critical Care Nurse.

Dr. Shin is a board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who earned his master’s degree at California State University, Los Angeles in 2019, and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2021. His scholarly DNP project focused on investigating prone positioning outcomes of oxygenation, intensive care unit length of stay, and intubation days during the COVID-19 pandemic with COVID-19 ARDS patients compared to non-COVID-19 ARDS. Dr. Shin won first place poster with his DNP scholarly project at the UCLA School of Nursing Research Day in 2022. 

Dr. Shin is a cardiovascular intensive care unit nurse practitioner at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. He works with the anesthesia critical care medicine team caring for open heart surgery patients, and helps manage advanced heart failure therapies with mechanical circulatory support devices.
