The dedicated Keck School of Medicine Faculty Council (KSOM-FC) members of the Keck School of Medicine of USC enhance the collective potential and trajectory at the university by: 

• Advocating for faculty members on multiple levels

• Collaborating with the Faculty Affairs office for Dean's awards

• Communicating with the USC Academic Senate and the KSOM Dean

• Participating in leadership working groups

• Serving on university-wide committees

• Reflecting the voices of all faculty members to shape the dynamic of the academic community at the University of Southern California (USC)

Every three years, the KSOM-FC elects new members and Dr. Esnasshari has been elected to serve in the KSOM-FC starting February 2024.

Dr. Esnaashari is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Division of Movement Disorders at the University of Southern California (USC), Keck School of Medicine. She completed her Master of Nursing Science (MSN) Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Esnaashari's research focuses on DBS outcomes & expectations and DBS education for patients & caregivers. Her clinical background includes more than 20 years of Neuroscience and she is an expert in the deep brain stimulator field (DBS) and management of patients with Movement Disorders. She developed a DBS-Education pamphlet for DBS candidates and caregivers to guide long-term home DBS management. She has been a member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) for more than 15 years and a member of the AAN-Annual Conference Subcommittee since 2019. She served as AAN-CNAPP (Consortium of Advanced Practice Providers) Chair-Elect from 2019 to 2021 and the chair of CNAPP from 2021 to 2023. She co-authors the AAN updated Position Statement on Advanced Practice Providers and is a funder of the monthly USC DBS Support Group for DBS patients and caregivers which continues since 2010. Additionally, Dr. Esnaashari is involved with teaching DBS programming to Neurology Movement Disorder fellows and medical students at USC.
