Alumna Spotlight:

Dr. Jhoanna Anuran-Torres

Jhoanna Anuran-Torres, DNP, RN, ACNP-BC, publishes her DNP Scholarly Project

Dr. Jhoanna Anuran-Torres published her DNP Scholarly Project titled Preprocedural Video Education on Liver Ablation Treatment in the Journal of Radiology Nursing in June 2024.

The purpose of the study was to test the effectiveness of a pre-procedural video educational tool to reduce patient anxiety and increase knowledge in hepatocellular carcinoma patients in an interventional radiology clinic setting. A standardized pre-procedural video educational tool can be a useful practice across all interventional radiology departments as it is associated with improved quality of care and positive health outcomes.

Jhoanna Anuran-Torres, DNP, RN, ACNP-BC, is a Nurse Practitioner in Interventional Radiology at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. She graduated with her BSN at USC in 2000, Acute Care MSN at UCLA in 2004, and DNP degree at UCLA in 2022.
