May 4 - 8

This week, check out the "Resource Room" google site from the Cascade in-home learning page. There you will find past activities we have posted, as well as supports for your grade level work from your classroom teachers.

Find it by clicking the button below:

BELOW, you will find resources that will help you complete your weekly literacy and math assignments.

LITERACY:

For students who receive writing services from Mrs. Zaremba, you may choose to take 2-3 days working on one assignment, instead of creating a new writing piece daily. The important thing is to spend 10-20 minutes writing daily, but don't forget to take breaks.

MONDAY: Here is a picture of all the characters in The Gruffalo to help you with Monday's assignment.

TUESDAY: Here are some sentence starters to help you with your writing about meeting The Gruffalo.

If I met the Gruffalo, we would ___________ .

At first, I would feel _____because_________ .

I think we would / wouldn't become friends because _____________________________ .

FRIDAY: The file on the right is a modified assignment with a helpful graphic organizer.

Use it as a template for your own writing, or click the arrow in the top right corner to print it out at home.

MATH:

Click the button to the RIGHT to access a math tool to help you work on the posted daily math activities. Students use ten frames in their classroom daily.

  • Students use the frames to count, represent, compare, and compute with numbers in a particular range.

  • The frames help students see quantities as equal groups of other quantities and in relation to benchmark quantities.
