LITERACY:

Students who see Mrs. Zaremba for reading or writing - You may use the forms below to type your answers as you finish each daily reading of "The Knight at Dawn." Or have a parent type your answers as you say them.

MATH:

Below are strategies you can use to help you add and subtract 10s for your weekly assigned work.

Here's how to use a 100s chart to +/- 10s:

When you ADD 10, you jump one row down on the number chart.

When you SUBTRACT 10, you jump one row up on the number chart.

EXAMPLES:
53 + 10 = 63 (jump one row down)

78 - 10 = 68 (jump one row up)

34 + 20 = 54 (jump two rows down because 20 = 2 tens)

Check out the slides to the right to see some strategies that will help you add 10s and 20s.

You can even create manipulatives at home to help you with your work. The last slide has ideas for how to use what you have at home to make bundles of 10.
