Kim Leslie

Ms. Leslie is originally from New Hampshire where she grew up eating macaroni and cheese, playing outside, and coloring up a storm. She went to Dartmouth College and earned a degree in Environmental and Evolutionary Biology with a minor in Studio Art. Later, she got her Masters in Teaching Science through an online (!?!? Yes, Ms. Leslie has been an online learner too…) program at Western Governors University. She moved west to California and has been moving farther north ever since!  (The Kenai Peninsula of Alaska is as far as she’s gotten.) Ms. Leslie is married to J, a professional artist, and together they have a teenage daughter, Indigo. When she’s not nerding-out on science and online teaching, Ms. Leslie can still be found eating macaroni and cheese, playing outside or coloring up a storm.

Ms. Leslie's education philosophy can be summed up by WONDER + CHALLENGE DRIVE LEARNING. She tries to meet students where they are now, and facilitates rich experiences driven by the Science Standards for Alaska and students' own personalized outcomes.

Fun Fact: Ms. Leslie has fallen off the Great Wall of China while doing a cartwheel. She's okay.
