I don't enjoy writing about myself, but you may want to know a few things--especially as to whether or not I'm a reasonable human being and whether or not I'm qualified to teach anything to anyone. Here are some tidbits that may help:
I have a family (wife and daughters) and do 95% of everything I do for their sake. The rest is personal time I spend making music, skateboarding, doing outdoor work/subsistence activities, or playing some kind of brain game.
I like animals a lot, and we have 4 dogs, 2 cats, 1.39 horses, as well as some goats and ducks.
I enjoy my freedoms; we live off-grid in a very rural area and don't mind the inconvenience in exchange for the lifestyle. We live in a beautiful, peaceful place and put in effort to maintain that.
I have been working in education for over 20 years and teaching (certified) since 2009--sometimes in the classroom, sometimes online. I've been with KPBSD since 2012. Before that, I taught in the Bering Strait School District and taught for one year in Southeast Alaska. I also spent several years as the Gifted Youth Coordinator for MENSA Alaska.
Despite not enjoying most of my undergrad college experience, I eventually went back for a M.Ed (from UAS) and an Ed.D (from Boise State) in Educational Technology. I think I am done with being a student in the formal sense.
Our family is active in the local amateur radio community. If you are a ham radio geek, we keep a radio on and tuned to local 2 meter frequencies most of the time. Give us a call: KL5AE, KL5AF, and KL5IX.
I prefer odd numbers to even ones, and am only adding this so I can have seven bullet points instead of six.
