Next week the children will write a new pourquoi tale independently including a beginning that establishes a situation, the setting, and introduces the characters. The middle of their stories will introduce thhe problem and show how the characters respond to the problem. The ending of their stories will provide a solution to the problem. The children will also learn about how to form and use comparative and superlative adjectives and adverbs. 

Students will solve word problems and will need to determine if a problem is multiplication or division, write an equation and then solve for the answer. Students will also revisit area and determine an unknown side(s) when the area is known.
