Third Grade Tiger Times
5/8: iReady Testing Continues

Next week we will continue our Mystery Unit in reading and writing. The children are enjoying thinking like a detective, analyzing clues, and trying to solve the myseteries.
No more homework for the remiander of this school year.
We will wrap up iready math testing for some students. Students will continue reviewing third grade skills from the school year. All third graders will also complete math projects and get a peek at what they will do in 4th grade math.
Colonial America Unit 6:
Students will explore British Colonization of the Americas.
We will learn about the geography, natural resources and the lives of the many people who call these regions home.
New England Colonies
Mid-Atlantic Colonies
Southern Colonies
We will have a Mid-Unit and Unit Test since this unit is so large. Dates may differ among teachers. Look for your teacher's message about test date.
Rocks and Minerals Unit
This week we will begin our second unit in science on rocks and minerals.
In this unit we will be learning about the properties of rocks and minerals (color, luster, hardness and texture) and how scientists use questions to determine the difference between them.
We will also be learning how to use the MOHS scale of hardness.
Look for your teacher's message about test date.
